Friends of DPL Program Highlights
Our Mission
The mission of the Friends of Dennis Public Library is to support the Library by raising funds that pay for materials, a variety of services, and fun and educational programs for all ages. The funds for these purposes come from the annual dues paid by members of the Friends, fundraising activities and events, and special donations from individuals and organizations in the community.
New Members Welcome!
The FRIENDS group is always seeking members and board members. Board members assist with fundraising and program planning. Stop by the library and ask for more information and membership details.
On-going Activities of the Friends Include:
Book Sales
You may donate gently used books and DVDs to sell in the Friends’ Book Sale. We ask that items are no more than a few years old and come from a non-smoking household. These items are on sale in the Library at low prices, great for stocking cottages or grabbing a beach read. All proceeds go to the Friends.
Engraved Bricks
Bricks engraved with a 3-line message of the buyer’s choice, costing $125, are installed in the walkway of the Library. Consider honoring businesses, family, friends, and pets. Order forms are available at the Friends desk or click HERE for our online form.
Other Ways to Help the Friends:
Volunteer
Periodically, the Friends seek new volunteers to help staff the book sale. Please call or stop by the library to learn how you can help. We are not currently accepting new volunteers for 2025.
Donate
Monetary gifts to the Friends help us support the library. If you would like to make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to The Friends of Dennis Public Library and mailed to 5 Hall Street, Dennis Port, MA 02639. Please also consider donating to the Friends as part of charitable giving.
