A Tree for Mary

On Wednesday evening, April 26th, an American Redbud tree was planted in memory of our coworker Mary Fecteau.

Please come by and take a look at this new addition, which is already showing delicate, purple blossoms. In a few weeks, a marker will be added in Mary's honor. We look forward to this beautiful tree growing tall and strong for many years to come.

The donation was made possible by the Fecteau family, Jensen Landscapes, the Dennis Select Board/Administration, and the Department of Public Works.

We thank everyone who joined together to remember Mary in this way.

Spring StoryWalk® at Johnny Kelley Park

Starting Saturday, April 15th

Make the most of April school vacation week with a visit to the Dennis Libraries’ StoryWalk®. Head over to Johnny Kelley Park for Spring Parade, written by Camelia Kay and illustrated by Allyn Howard. This playful book is a vibrant ode to the arrival of spring in all its glory. March along with Mama and Baby Bunny as they welcome a festive parade of budding flowers and blossoming trees, new birds, butterflies, and bees, and all of their beloved friends, emerging from the winter season.

The walk begins across from the playground area and proceeds right between the posts for the Braille Trail. We hope readers of all ages will participate and, if you like, take time to enjoy thepark’s play and fitness equipment during your visit.

The StoryWalk® concept was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed with the help of Rachel Senechal of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. The Dennis Libraries thank these two innovative women, along with the Recreation Department and the Department of Public Works for the Town of Dennis, for making this event possible.
