The Dennis Council on Aging and the Dennis Public Library are collaborating to showcase the talent of senior artists in the community. Throughout November, come and view the artwork of Susan Chalke at Dennis Public Library. This "Sneak Peek" is the first in a series that will give audiences a chance to preview an artist's work, which will later be displayed at the Dennis Council on Aging after its grand re-opening.
Susan Chalke is a local artist, living in Dennis. She graduated from The New England School of Art in Boston in 1950 on a three year scholarship. Exhibits of her work have been displayed at juried shows here on the Cape, at the Cape Cod Art Association, of which she was a member, the Cape Playhouse, the Yarmouth Art Guild, of which she was a member, on C3TV “Women Creating Art” Show, and at the Chatham Arts Center. She uses both water and oil.
Note from the artist: "I prefer to be called Sue. I am an eighty seven year old artist who has lived in Dennis for over fifty years. I started drawing before I went to first grade."
