Throughout the month of
January enjoy the artwork of Viola Holmgren, which will be on display in The
Benjamin and Ruth Muse Meeting Room during most of the library’s open hours.
Viola Holmgren paints
in oils and creates mixed media imagery through her oil paintings and
photography. She is especially drawn to water and loves painting seascapes. Her
art instruction is ongoing through local artists and art organizations right
here on Cape Cod and previously in Worcester, Massachusetts, and St. Augustine,
Florida.
She has a corporate and business owner background and recently led a team in the establishment of “Artists’ Paintbox,” a South Yarmouth Art Gallery for over 30 Yarmouth Art Guild artists. Her work has been exhibited and sold at events at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, through the Yarmouth Art Guild, the HyArts Cultural District of Hyannis and other area businesses.
Viola earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Journalism from Suffolk University in 2007 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. A resident of the Cape for 20 years now, Viola says she is fortunate to live on Cape Cod and loves living here because her canvas is never empty.
