Local author Jennifer Gostin
Friday, December 6 at 12:00 pm
Come meet Jennifer Gostin. The Eastham author has created a tantalizing tale out of old legends, tattered scarecrows, a half-forgotten colony, and a witch named Coral. An 1852 short tale by Nathaniel Hawthorne called Feathertop fueled her inspiration, but her modern twist is all her own and receiving great nods from local reviewers. Explore her mysterious and humorous vision, entitled Wonderstrand Tales, which is never out-of-season on fog-covered Cape Cod.
Jennifer’s first publications were short
stories during her college years in Ohio.
A decade later, her first novel, Peregrine's Rest, was published by The
Permanent Press. She studied folklore at University
College, Dublin, and holds an MFA from the Vermont
College of Fine Arts. She loves Mozart, vintage mysteries, Halloween, gerbils,
and comic strips. Wonderstrand Tales grew out of her love for the Cape landscape and from all the rich hours she has spent
lost in stories. Visit her website, www.jennifergostin.com, for more
information. Books will be available for sale and signing.

November meeting room artists
Two long-time friends, Gretchen Irving and Muriel Thomas are showing their art at the library for the month of November. They met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design and raised families in different parts of Massachusetts before retiring on Cape Cod, renewing their involvement in the arts. Their interests vary: Muriel has moved somewhat from watercolor into photography over the last few years. Gretchen paints in various mediums and teaches. Enjoy the diversity.
Their work is on display in our meeting through November 27th.
